Own the Semantic Layer Behind a Global Analytics Platform
At ECOM, we're building a modern analytics environment powered by Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and Direct Lake architecture. We're looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to own the semantic models that drive reporting and decision-making across the business.
This is not a dashboard-building role.
We're looking for someone who understands Power BI architecture at a deep level and enjoys solving complex performance, scalability, and governance challenges. When a Direct Lake model slows down, a refresh fails, or a semantic model needs redesigning, you'll be the technical expert leading the solution.
What You'll Do
Design, optimize, and govern Direct Lake semantic models in Microsoft Fabric.
Troubleshoot performance, refresh, and connectivity issues across Direct Lake, Import, and gateway-connected sources.
Develop advanced DAX measures and optimize model performance.
Establish standards for dimensional modeling, security, and semantic model governance.
Implement row-level security and incremental refresh strategies.
Partner with Data Engineering to improve Delta table design, partitioning, and lakehouse performance.
Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable analytics solutions.
What Success Looks Like
In this role, you'll help shape the future of analytics at ECOM by:
Improving performance and reliability across enterprise reporting solutions.
Establishing modeling standards that scale with the business.
Influencing architecture decisions across Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
Serving as the team's subject matter expert for semantic modeling and Direct Lake performance.
What You Bring
Required
Deep hands-on experience with Power BI semantic model development.
Strong Microsoft Fabric and Direct Lake expertise.
Advanced DAX and Power Query skills.
Experience with query folding, incremental refresh, and row-level security.
Strong SQL and dimensional modeling capabilities.
Experience working with OneLake, Fabric Lakehouses, and Delta Lake architecture.
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred
DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer) certification.
Experience with Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, deployment pipelines, or source control.
Exposure to Spark, PySpark, or Fabric data engineering solutions.
Why ECOM
At ECOM, we value people who are curious, practical, and willing to take ownership. You'll work with talented teams across the business, influence key technology decisions, and help build scalable analytics solutions that support a global organization. Our culture is grounded in expertise, collaboration, and integrity.
